Colouring Hair and Cocochoco Treatments: Everything you should know!

For clients with coloured/dyed hair who have had (or want!) a Keratin or Hair Botox treatment: Colour can be done either two weeks before or two weeks after a Cocochoco Keratin or Hair Botox treatment. For best results, any bleaching should be done two weeks before, and any other colouring should be done two weeks after. Bleach opens the hair cuticles, and Cocochoco seals the cuticles down, so this is why bleaching should be done before the Cocochoco treatment. It is possible that the heat of the straightener can slightly lighten any richer tones in the hair, which is why it is advised to apply darker and richer colours at least two weeks after the Cocochoco Keratin or Hair Botox treatments.

Colouring should NOT be done on the same day as a Cocochoco service.

For clients with coloured/dyed hair who have had (or want!) an Onyx treatment: We recommend that bleaching is once again done two weeks before. Bleaching is an intensive service, and so is Onyx, so it is best to give the hair the time to rest. For darker colours, this can be done 5 days after an Onyx treatment. Onyx is an acidic product which can lift hair colour, so dark clients should be made aware of this. For best colouring results after Onyx, the client should wait 5 days (or have at least 3 hair washes completed) to ensure the residues have left the hair, so that the colour can take successfully.

Colouring should NOT be done on the same day as a Cocochoco service.
