How to Price our Treatments in Your Salon

We are often asked about how much a salon should be charging for the Cocochoco services. We’d like this Blog Post to provide some advice on this exact topic!

Ultimately, the pricing structure is totally up to the salon – this is your time, your product, your service, so we would not dictate a pricing structure to any salon. However, we normally advise checking out the prices of other salons in your locality who offer the treatment, to ensure you are remaining competitive. But, it is also important not to undersell your services or abilities.

We also normally suggest that your price range is also dependent on hair length & thickness, as longer and thicker hair types will take more time and product.

Similarly, the Onyx product will likely take more time to perform, and is a longer lasting product, so you can advertise this (and charge this) as a more premium product/service.

Finally, many salons like to sell the service as a bundle – the smoothing service PLUS the aftercare for a set price. This ensures that your clients will be using the correct aftercare products to maintain their treatment, and get the best and longest possible results. We offer trade accounts and bulk aftercare offers to ensure you are getting the best price on aftercare, and making the most profit possible.

We can also provide you with a formula which is recommended for pricing services generally. This simple formula can be applied to all of our treatments (and other salon services) to give you a minimum pricing structure for your salon:

1. Product Cost – e.g. if one bottle of product costs you €100, and gives you 10 treatments, that’s a set cost of €10 per client 2. Overheads – add your monthly expenses (rent, insurance, electricity, etc.) and divide by your working hours. For example €2000 per month expenses ÷ 160 working hours per month = €12.50 per hour to cover your overheads 3. Your income – decide what your own hourly rate is, e.g. €30 per hour Now, add this together! €10 + (€12.50 + €30 = €42.50 per hour). So, if a treatment takes 3 hours, then your minimum charge should be €10 + €127.50 = €137.50. If you include the aftercare, you can add this on to the total price (typically an average of €45-50 added on if you are including aftercare in your bundle/service).
