COCOCHOCO professional journal

Your Cocochoco Assignment: A Full Explanation

You’ve taken a Cocochoco training course, and now it’s time to do (and submit) an assignment to get your accredited certification. In this post, we’ll give you all the information you need to succeed.

In order to receive our accredited certification, you will have to upload videos of your work on two models, have your assignment reviewed and approved by our teacher, and finally pay the certificate administration fee in order to receive your certificate(s). The video(s) you submit will need to show each step of the process that you went through, from the very beginning – consultation, right through to the results. This is the only way that we can certify you under our AIT accreditation. Please see below for more information on the video(s):

You will need to demonstrate your work on at least two models. AIT requires that our students demonstrate their work on two models minimum. So this means that if you only want to get certified in Keratin, then both models should have a keratin treatment done. If you only want to get certified in hair botox, then both models should have a hair botox treatment. If you only want to get certified in Onyx, then both models should have an Onyx treatment. If you want to get certified in all treatments, then one model should be keratin, one should be botox, and one should be Onyx.

The video(s) should show each step of the process – from consultation to results. Each video clip should be approximately 30-60 seconds long, enough to demonstrate that you know what you are doing. This will result in a video no more than 6 minutes in total if stitched together. You do not have to stitch them together, we can accept a series of individual videos.

Ideally for your own convenience, you will talk through each step as you are doing it. However, you do not have to create a voiceover, narration, speak in the video, or create any sound if you do not want to. If you submit a silent video, then a detailed email will need to accompany your submission. This email should explain exactly what you are doing, and why.

Detailed Video Steps:

Consultation: This should show what type of hair you are treating, and which treatment you will be using. Explain why the treatment best suits the hair type, or the results the client wants to achieve.

Washing, drying, applying the treatment: Show the products you use. How many times you wash the hair. Show if you are applying the products to wet or dry hair. When applying the treatment, show how much you are applying, and say why.

Drying, straightening: Show us how you perform these steps – what tools you use, how thick the sections of hair are, what temperatures you have chosen, how many passes, etc.

Results: We recommend using a flash/video light to get the best photo/video results.

Aftercare: Tell us what advice you gave to the client for maintaining their treatment and why.

This can be explained either in the video, or in the email you submit with the video link.

Submitting The Assignment

When your video/videos are ready for submission, please follow these steps for submission:

You will need to upload the videos to a cloud platform of your choice e.g. Google Drive, iCloud, Youtube, Dropbox, Vimeo and so on.

Video files are normally too big to be sent directly via email, which is why you will need to use a cloud service.

Once your files are uploaded to the platform of your choice, generate a ‘share’ link that will allow our teacher to access and view your files. During training, the submission email address will be provided, so please send the submission directly to the address provided.

If we have any issues accessing your files, we will email you directly with further requests or instructions.

Once your assignment has been approved, you are welcome to withdraw the clips from your chosen platform.
