The Cocochoco brand of aftercare is the only recommended aftercare for maintaining one of our treatments, as it is specifically designed to support the treatment. Long-lasting results are only possible when Cocochoco aftercare products are used to maintain it. We will explain why in another Blog Post read the related article.
The choice of aftercare will depend on the client’s own hair type.
For very dry or dehydrated hair, we recommend our Intensive Restoration set. This set is designed to provide a high-level of moisture to help dry hair feel revived. Clients who do not have dry hair may find this product too heavy.
For hair that tends to get greasy, we recommend our Volumizing set. The Volumizing set is designed with a stronger cleanser, to help break down greasiness in the root area, and provide a slight lift so that the hair does not get greasy too quickly.
For coloured hair and/or a moisturising formula, we recommend our Colour Protect set. This set is formulated with ingredients to hydrate and protect colour treated hair, so it is excellent for colour maintenance, or for clients who find their hair tends towards the slightly dry side (but for whom the Intensive Restoration formula would be too heavy).
For weak, lifeless, ageing, dehydrated or damaged hair we recommend our Collagen and Biotin set, which is infused with a range of beneficial ingredients to target these kinds of concerns.
For dry or sensitive scalps, or for no specific hair concerns, we recommend the original range of Sulphate Free shampoo and conditioner (all of our products are sulphate free, but the original range of shampoo and conditioner has not changed its name since being introduced). This is a mild formula that will suit all hair types, so it does not target any specific concern.
We would also recommend the use of a hair mask every couple of washes to give the best and longest results.
The Cashmere mask can be used for thick, strong, healthy hair. It is a moisturising formula which leaves the hair feeling soft and smooth. It is an excellent choice for curly hair clients too.
The Collagen and Biotin mask is excellent to revitalise hair. The ingredients are supportive and beneficial for anti-ageing results in the hair. It is also our choice for stabilising the hair following an Onyx treatment.
Our Boost Up mask would be most suitable for fine or dull hair, to help bring life back to the hair.
The Keratin Repair mask is great for clients who may have signs of damage to the hair. However, we would not recommend the Keratin Repair mask while the client has a Cocochoco treatment fresh in the hair, as there is already enough keratin in the hair following their treatment. The Keratin Repair mask is a great addition to the haircare routine towards the end of the treatment’s lifespan, to help get the best and longest results from their treatment.
Finally, if the client plans to style their hair using hot tools, we’d highly recommend using our thermal protection spray to protect the lamination on the hair from damage caused by hot tools like curlers.
The Diamond Drops and Cherry Blossom serums, as well as the Split Ends cream, can be applied to wet or dry hair for extra smoothness or gloss.
We also recommend our Argan Oil for finishing the hair off, or to be used in a hair/scalp oiling routine.
